What the line art looks like

Rabbits photograph well for this because their outline is so recognisable. Upright ears, a rounded body and a tuft of a tail read instantly even as pure outlines. Lop ears give a softer, heavier shape; lionheads and angoras produce dense fur detail that older children and adults enjoy filling in.

Common questions

Which rabbit breeds work best?

All of them. Netherland Dwarfs and Rex rabbits give clean, simple outlines that suit younger children. Lops, Lionheads and Angoras carry much more fur detail, which makes a richer page for anyone with more patience.

My rabbit is white — is that a problem?

No. The AI works from edges and shadow, not colour, so a white rabbit against a darker background traces perfectly well. What does cause trouble is a white rabbit on a white blanket in bright light, where the edge genuinely disappears.

Does the rabbit need to be sitting still?

It needs to be still enough not to blur. A rabbit mid-binky rarely works; a rabbit loafing, sitting up or grooming works every time.

Can I use a photo taken through a hutch?

Better not to. Wire mesh in front of the rabbit gets traced as lines too, which clutters the page. A photo taken with the door open gives a much cleaner result.
